Community rules
Last updated 22 October 2026
Bagged works when people can trust each other. These rules keep it that way. They’re part of our terms, and they’re the rules we use when we look at a report.
What you can sell
For now, Bagged is for clothing and footwear for women, men and kids, including unisex items. They can be pre-loved or new.
What you can’t sell
- Counterfeits and replicas, including items described as “inspired by”, “dupe” or “1:1” a brand
- Anything that isn’t clothing or footwear
- Stolen items, or anything you don’t have the right to sell
- Items that have been recalled or aren’t safe to use
- Anything illegal to sell in the UK
Listing honestly
- Use your own photos of the actual item, not pictures from shops or other sellers.
- Show and mention any marks, holes, stains or other faults.
- Give the true size, brand and condition.
- Keep photos about the item. No nudity, and don’t include other people without their permission.
Kids’ items
Photograph kids’ items laid flat or on a hanger. Never show a child wearing the item, and don’t include a child’s name, school or anything else that could identify them. We remove any listing that breaks this rule.
Paying safely
- Only pay, and ask to be paid, through Bagged with Buy now. That’s what buyer protection covers.
- Never ask for, or agree to, payment outside the app: bank transfer, PayPal, gift cards or cryptocurrency. Don’t share contact details to arrange a sale elsewhere.
- Sellers: post sold items within 5 days, in the packaging and condition described.
- Buyers: only report a problem when there really is one, and keep the item and packaging while we look.
- Never share card or bank details, passwords or codes in a chat.
- Be wary of anyone who wants to move the conversation to another app, rushes you, or sends you a link to pay. Report them.
How to treat each other
- Be polite, even when you disagree or say no to an offer.
- No harassment, threats, hate or abuse, including about someone’s race, religion, sex, sexuality, gender identity or disability.
- No spam, repeated messages that aren’t wanted, or adverts for other sites.
- Only use someone’s address and phone number to post their item.
Reporting and blocking
If something doesn’t look right, use Report this item on a listing, or the ⋮ menu in a chat to report or block someone. The other person isn’t told who reported them. When you block someone, you won’t see each other’s items and they can’t message you.
How we decide, and how to appeal
We want moderation on Bagged to be fair and open. This is our promise:
- Automatic checks can flag something for us to look at, but they never remove or ban on their own.
- A person looks at every report and makes every decision. We take into account what happened, whether it was a mistake, and anything you’ve done before.
- Depending on how serious it is, we may remove a listing, give a warning, suspend an account for a set time, or ban it.
- We always tell you which rule was broken and why, under Profile → Account status.
- You can appeal within 30 days. A person will look again, and if we got it wrong, we’ll put it right and say sorry.
